If anyone wants their poems pulished, the newspaper in Peterborough - the home town of the famous John Clare, publishes all poems that anyne e-mails to them before saturdays. the works can then be seen on the internet or read by locals. Poetry should be free for all to access in my mind

I am interested in coming along to see what happens at a meeting. Please can you email details of events, membership etc.

I love writing, and do write poetry when inspired. It would nice to meet more writers and hear other writers work.

Regards
Julia

I thought some people might be interested in our forthcoming charity book sale. We (ExLibris) have been rescuing unwanted books and selling them for charity for a few years. On Sept 19/20, there will be a sale crammed with books at 19 Vernon Avenue, Carlton, NG4 3FX.

Proceeds from this sale will be split between two charities:-
Nottingham & Notts Refugee Forum Destitution Fund (helping to support destitute asylum seekers),
and
The Stroke Association.

Some people may remember Mushroom Bookshop. Keith Leonard, one of the founders, died a month ago, and his entire personal book collection has been donated to ExLibris for resale for charity. Keith suffered disability as a result of a stroke for many years. His collection of over 1000 books will be among the books sold on 19/20 September, and it includes a large number of poetry books, including several rare volumes. This is one reason I thought to draw your attention to our event.

Prices are low. You will find a wide selection of books, from only 10p, and delicious cakes and pickles too! Because of the large number of books we have been given - too many to put out at once - fresh stock will be displayed on the Sunday.

The Evening Post has run a small piece on us at http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/news/Books-sold-stroke-victims/article-1303700-detail/article.html .

ExLibris are also known as "The Masked Booksellers", as we wear masks when bookselling . . . We are members of the Federation of Masked Booksellers.
